The Cat's Meow

The absurd world through the eyes of a cat...one who occasionally grumbles...

Doctor Doctor, we have nothing in our pockets
we continue, we have nothing left to offer

Ok, so I talk to girls I have never met online. Correction, I have met them, just not in any sort of detail, that is to say I haven't really spoken to them much in person. IM is a wonderful way of meeting girls. Or at least meeting people. Radiohead was right.

I'm trying to write a play with Chris F. Hope that goes well. So far it's really promising, but my email is being a bitch and a half, so it may be sidetracked. Grumble.

Going to Japan on June 13th, staying in Tokyo for a day or two, then out to the country. I'd like to say I'm excited, but right now it seems sort of abstract and hard to comprehend. I think once I'm actually counting down to the departure, as in minutes, I will be psyched. Then I'll fly for about half a day, and not be psyched. Then we'll land and it will all be good. I really do want to see this place. Where the sky is like static on an empty channel.

Friends are a good thing to have, once you remember them. Trevor is in Africa, Kenya is my guess. Crazy. He's studying tribal drumming. How cool is that? Mark is in his apartment as is Mike. John and I are the only ones left in Ridgefield as of now. How have we killed the time? Warhammer. That and going to a really lame party, one infested with 18 year olds acting all tough. But that was fun, as we tore them down. The cops showed up, and some fights broke out, it would appear. Also witnessed a beer pong game go for an hour, which must be a record. Kid's talk so much trash and co-opt cultures these days.

I keep thinking of my thesis. If the horse thing falls through, then I'm going to do an ethnography of a high school, namely places within it. Apply DeCerteau's theory of space to a cafeteria or something like that, document the cliques and the such and how they appropriate their spaces. I think that would be a little more typical, but hella fun. God, I'm a nerd.

And on the second day, there was nothing else left at all.

Been watching "Stop Making Sense" too much. That's right. Got the DVD during finals week, and I've watched it a good 10 times. I want to dance like David Byrne. How fucked up, eh?

And in a great big room, and that's the way we live.
